Congratulations to Jeanne Benson, Karen Coleman, Joan Maps Ducore, Berit Robertson, and Denise Swayne, this year's recipients of the Brookside Gardens School of Botanical Art & Illustration's Certificate in Botanical Art & Illustration. All five talented artists successfully completed the School's curriculum and gained favorable reviews of their Final Certificate Projects by three professional botanical artists. Upcoming Master Class
October 1-2, 2010
Join Billy Showell, a contemporary botanical painter and author of numerous books featuring her approach to botanical art, for Leaves: Painting Techniques and Contemporary Composition, a Master Class at Brookside Gardens. Billy will arrive from the UK to present a master class with an emphasis on painting leaves, to include: color mixing, contemporary compositions and many useful tips. The emphasis as always is on enjoying the art and developing your own unique style of painting. She will demonstrate throughout each day. Registration available starting August 15. School of Botanical Art & Illustration Certificate Program
Recent years have seen a resurgence in the popularity of botanical art and illustration from both the collector's and the student's point of view. Developed in collaboration with world-renowned botanical artist, Margaret Saul, the Brookside Gardens School of Botanical Art & Illustration offers botanical art class that serve all levels, from beginner to advanced.
Upon completion of a specified number and combination of botanical art classes, those students who choose to follow this course of work will earn a the prestigious Brookside Gardens School of Botanical Art & Illustration Certificate. Certificate work is not required to participate in the School. Classes also may be taken singly and at the student's leisure.
