12420 Pennyfield Lock Rd.
Tobytown, MD 20854

Pennyfield Lock Neighborhood Conservation Area is located at 12420 Pennyfield Lock Road in Tobytown. According to the "Birding America" website, Pennyfield Lock "is one of the locations along the old C&O Canal that is famous in birding circles. It's a beautiful place to bird — a walk (the old towpath) between canal and river, with trees and birds along a continuous edge over water. It can be terrific in spring migration, and a pleasure any time you're looking for a walk in nature." This 1.9-acre park was acquired by M-NCPPC in 1971.
